2025 AGM Update

The AGM held on 8 July was attended by 16 members including Board Members Robyn Connett (Chair), Paul Layton (Secretary), Rebecca Bower (Treasurer), Harry Temple and Jonathan Dawson.

Robyn welcomed members to the meeting and spoke to various aspects of the Annual Report concentrating particularly on the Queen’s Crescent Garden regeneration project. She gave a brief history of the acquisition of the land following Exter City Council’s compulsory purchase, its designation from private to public open space and the Trust’s signing of 125-year lease. Trust ownership has transformed the garden into a green haven at the heart of our community although much remains to be done to realise the community’s plans and aspirations identified in the Neighbourhood Planning consultation. To this end Robyn outlined plans to seek major Heritage Lottery Funding to complete the garden restoration.

Other matters covered included the Trust’s vigilance in monitoring planning applications and its submissions as a consultee in relation to the Neighbourhood Plan. Also, thanks were given to Harry Temple who stood down as a Director in November after nine years and a warm welcome accorded to newly appointed Director Jonathan Dawson.
